Hurricane Isaias has made landfall along the U.S. Gulf Coast

Hurricane Isaias has made landfall on the western Florida panhandle,
threatening dangerous storm surges and damaging winds.

The National Hurricane Center says it came ashore as a Category 2 storm.

Isaias is expected to bring potentially dangerous conditions to the Florida
Panhandle and southern Alabama.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis advised residents to take the storm seriously.
DeSantis said flash flooding would be a hazard "throughout the region."
