Japan is warning of increased cyberattacks, encouraging government ministries to ensure updates security protection, use storng passwords, and tighten cybersecurity.
The government says, AI is making vulnerabilities of such systems more complex.
The statement comes after the Lawson convenience store chain, Daiwa, and secondhand retailer BookOff have all reported customer data leaks.
Last month, a cyberattack on a car-sharing service leaking information from some 6.6 million member accounts.
Such attacks have topped 500 this year, marking what is likely to be a new record for the year.
Those leaks have involved passport and driver's license data, as well as contact and credit card information.
