South Korea Recalls Ambassador From Ukraine
Posted on 2026-10-08 19:19:13
South Korea says it will recall its ambassador to Ukraine, escalating a
dispute over the transfer of two North Korean prisoners of war.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed the transfer during a U-N speech last
month, despite South Korea's request that it remain confidential.

South Korea says Ukraine violated a nondisclosure agreement and is demanding
an apology.

Ukraine denies agreeing to such a deal.

The move comes days after South Korean President Lee Jae Myung warned of
unspecified punitive measures if Ukraine did not apologize.
