The government's proposed ten-thousand N.T. cash payments could begin January twenty-sixth, if next year's budget clears the required approval process.
Deputy Finance Minister Juan Ching-hwa (阮清華) says the estimate assumes legislative passage on January fifth and presidential promulgation on January twentieth.
Registration would open January twenty-fifth.
ATM withdrawals would follow on February fifteenth, with post office collection starting February twenty-second.
Juan stresses these dates are preliminary.
Delays in budget approval would push payments back.
The government plans five collection methods, including automatic bank deposits and deposits after registration.
Meanwhile, Juan rejects opposition calls to double the payment.
He says a twenty-thousand N.T. payment would cost more than four-hundred-seventy billion N.T., requiring borrowing and squeezing other government spending.
