Magnitude 4.5 earthquake shakes southern Taiwan

No damage or injures are being reported after a magnitude 4.5 earthquake
shook the coast of southern Taiwan late this afternoon.

According to the Central Weather Administration, the quake struck just after
4:40 PM at sea ... at about 42 kilometers south-southwest of Kaohsiung City
Hall, at a depth of around 34 kilometers.

The earthquake's intensity was highest in Kaohsiung, where it measured 3 on
Taiwan's 7-tier intensity scale.

The quake also measured an intensity of 2 in Pingtung County.
