China launches probe into EU chemical imports

China has launched an anti-dumping investigation into imports of a chemical
compound used in dyes and pharmaceuticals from the European Union.

The Commerce Ministry says the probe into p-nitrotoluene imports was
initiated after a complaint from China's domestic industry.

Trade tensions between the EU and China have increased in recent months, with
both sides imposing or considering curbs on each other's imports. EU measures
are aimed at slowing down the inflow of electric vehicles and fast fashion
from China, among other products.
