MND Calls for Swift Passing of Additional Budget

The Ministry of National Defense announced that it is preparing procurement
plans for a $145 billion NT supplementary defense budget.

The proposal includes nearly $56 billion NT for domestic drone systems to
establish initial unmanned combat capabilities by 2027.

The ministry stated that preliminary procurement preparation is complete,
pending approval by the Legislative Yuan.

And responding to media questions, the Navy confirms that testing on Taiwan's
prototype indigenous submarine continues with safety as the primary focus.

They say daily penalties for contractual delays remain in effect, but cannot
be announced at this time.
