British Police Holding Five Men Under Suspicion for Terrorism

British Police are holding five men and examining suspected explosives found
near a U-S-operated air force base in England.

Counterterror detectives are investigating on Monday whether the arrests
foiled an attempted attack linked to Iran.

The men were detained early Sunday after three vans were spotted near RAF
Fairford.

They were initially held over suspected explosives offenses and later
arrested on suspicion of preparing an act of terrorism.

U-S President Donald Trump said the arrests followed cooperation between the
U-S and Britain.

Investigators have not concluded whether the incident is a state-backed
attack, but tensions with Iran are high.
