High-temperature alerts expanded to 10 areas

High-temperature alerts have been expanded to 10 cities and counties across
Taiwan ... with temperatures reaching 36 degrees Celsius or higher.

The Central Weather Administration's yellow alerts now cover Keelung, Taipei,
New Taipei and Taoyuan ... as well as Miaoli, Changhua, Nantou, Tainan and
Pingtung.

Yunlin remains under an orange alert ... with 36-degree temperatures possible
for several days in a row.

As of 3 PM ... the day's highest temperature was 36.7 degrees in Taipei's
Zhongzheng District ... followed by 36.6 degrees in New Taipei's Xizhi
District.

In fact, all of today's 10 highest temperature readings were recorded in
Taipei or New Taipei.
