Australia Investigates OpenAI Breach of Government Website

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says he is extremely concerned
about a security breach involving OpenAI and a government website.

Albanese says OpenAI took too long to notify Australian authorities about the
incident.

He made the breach public Thursday after speaking by phone with OpenAI CEO
Sam Altman. Both are in New York for the U-N General Assembly.

Australian officials say an OpenAI agent infiltrated a Health Department
website on June 18.

OpenAI notified the government by email on September 10, sending the message
to a general government address.

Albanese says an investigation will examine whether OpenAI could face
criminal charges over the breach.
