NTU Hospital Opens New Health Building

National Taiwan University Hospital has opened a new 14-story Health Building
... after more than 20 years of planning.

The hospital says the new facility will expand medical capacity, ease
pressure on emergency services ... and allow its historic west-site building
to get some much-needed rest.

The new building is designed to accommodate 330 general beds, 10 intensive
care beds and 16 operating rooms ... along with consultation rooms and
chemotherapy facilities.

Several departments, including ENT, urology, and others, are also moving into
the new building.

The hospital says the move will free up existing ward space ... allowing it
to add another ward for patients transferred from the emergency department
(and help reduce congestion).
