Taoyuan Man Indicted Over Large Cannabis Farm

The Taoyuan District Prosecutors Office has indicted a 36-year-old man
accused of growing cannabis inside a rented townhouse for three years.

Prosecutors say the man, who works in the frozen seafood wholesale business,
obtained cannabis seeds in 2023 ... and used information found online to grow
and harvest the plants.

Police and prosecutors searched the property mid-July and seized 82 cannabis
plants, 15 bags of cannabis leaves and equipment used to grow and process the
drug.

The seized cannabis was estimated to be worth more than 20-million NT.

Prosecutors say the plants and cannabis leaves were destroyed before the
indictment after samples were taken as evidence.

He faces charges of manufacturing a Category 2 drug under the Narcotics
Hazard Prevention Act.
