Rwandan genocide

British authorities have charged a doctor living in London with crimes
related to the 1994 Rwandan genocide.

Dr. Vincent Brown, formerly known as Vincent Bajinya, is the first person in
the U-K to face charges for participating in the genocide.

Prosecutors say Brown, who is now 65 and lives in London, has been charged
with conduct ancillary to genocide and murder as a crime against humanity.

The charges relate to allegations he directed and incited acts of murder and
genocide against the Tutsi ethnic group in Rwanda.

London's Metropolitan Police began investigating in Brown on 2019 at Rwanda's
request.

He is set to appear in court later today.
