Mostly stable weather forecast through the weekend

The Central Weather Administration says we can expect mostly stable weather
conditions - with partly cloudy to sunny skies - across much of the island
through the end of this week and into the weekend.

According to the administration's forecast center, there will be some
localized brief afternoon showers - primarily in the south as well as
mountainous areas in the center and north.

However, a low-pressure system currently near Guam is expected to develop
into a tropical depression in the coming couple of days.

The weather administration says it may strengthen into a tropical storm by
Friday and could threaten to the east coast of Taiwan by next Monday.

The administration is stressing that weather simulations are currently mixed
and to whether it directly impact Taiwan and it will continue to monitor the
weather pattern.
