Taiwan chefs bring taste of home to Argentina

Two Taiwanese chefs have brought the flavors of home to Buenos Aires as part
of an international Taiwanese cuisine tour.

Chefs Tsai Kun-cheng (蔡坤城) and Lin Yen-chao (林彥兆) demonstrated four dishes,
including peanut mochi and shrimp balls, for members of the local Taiwanese
community.

Tsai says the tour is not only about teaching people how to make Taiwanese
food, but also helping those who have lived abroad reconnect with flavors
they remember from childhood.

The Overseas Community Affairs Council is organizing the program, which
includes 115 events across 18 countries this year.

The Central and South America leg has also taken the chefs through Ecuador,
Paraguay and Brazil.

Organizers say the tour uses food to promote Taiwanese culture and strengthen
connections with overseas communities.
