North Korea has rejected a resolution from the International Atomic Energy Agency criticizing its nuclear weapons program.
Kim Yo Jong, the sister of leader Kim Jong Un, accused the agency of double standards, claiming it overlooks nuclear-related activities by the United States and South Korea.
North Korea’s Foreign Ministry also declared that the country’s status as a nuclear power is irreversible and supported by its nuclear deterrent.
The statements came as state media reported that Kim Jong Un had completed a three-day inspection of major munitions factories.
Kim said efforts to modernize North Korea’s defense capabilities were significantly changing the structure and resources of its armed forces.
