15 Chinese Military Aircraft Cross Taiwan Strait Median Line

The Defense Ministry says 15 Chinese military aircraft crossed the median
line of the Taiwan Strait this morning.

It says a total of 19 aircraft and drones were detected operating at sea from
8:45 a.m., including J-11 and J-16 fighter jets, H-6K bombers and support
aircraft.

Fifteen of them crossed the median line and entered Taiwan’s central and
southwestern airspace.

The ministry says the aircraft were operating with Chinese naval vessels in
what Beijing called a joint combat readiness patrol.

The Armed Forces monitored the activity using joint intelligence,
surveillance and reconnaissance systems.

It also deployed aircraft, naval vessels and land-based missile systems in
response.
