protests with tear gas.

The protests were organized by the opposition coalition C64 in Kinshasa and
other cities.

Demonstrators were protesting against constitutional changes that could allow
the president to seek a third term.

The Kinshasa protest began peacefully, but police later used tear gas to
separate protesters from those in support of the ruling party.

Opposition leader Martin Fayulu says that police fired at protesters.

This comes as the Congo faces multiple crises, including an Ebola outbreak
and ongoing rebel violence.

The current president has been in office since 2019, and is due to complete
his second term in 2028.

The Congolese Constitution bars any revision on the two term limit, but a
bill in the legislature would allow the president to amend those provisions.
