Military to hold live-fire drill joint precision strike drills

The military is scheduled to hold a three-day live-fire drill joint precision
strike drills later this week at its Jioupeng Base in Pingtung.

Defense officials say the exercise will include the use of missiles, rockets
and drones as part of efforts to assess long-range precision-strike
capabilities and test new equipment.

The annual exercise is hosted on an rotating basis by the Navy and the Air
Force and this year’s exercise is hosted by the Navy.

Three warning zones have been designated: one covers waters east of the
coastline from Taimali in Taitung to Eluanbi in Pingtung.

The second extends from the Taitung-Pingtung boundary eastward to waters off
Green Island and Orchid Island, while the third is located in waters east of
Chenggong and Taimali in Taitung.
