Artificial intelligence developer Anthropic says it has disrupted several malicious campaigns targeting its Claude platform over the past eight months.
The company says the operations included a suspected Russian cyber-espionage campaign and data-scraping efforts by Chinese tech firms.
In a newly released threat report, Anthropic says hackers linked to Russia's foreign intelligence service used Claude across phishing attacks and hotel Wi-Fi hijacking operations against Ukrainian targets.
The company also accused seven Chinese firms, including Alibaba, DeepSeek, and Moonshot, of running illicit distillation attacks.
Anthropic says those companies routed millions of conversations through Claude to replicate its capabilities and improve their own models.
