Taiwan is looking to expand cooperation with Malaysia's Sabah state in smart agriculture, health care and talent development.
Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung says Taiwan can share experience in AI applications, automation and data analysis to help raise agricultural productivity and strengthen food security.
Lin made the comments after meeting Sabah Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry Minister Jamawi Ja'afar in Taipei.
Sabah is seeking to improve food self-sufficiency and upgrade agriculture, fisheries processing and cold-chain technology.
Lin says Taiwan could also provide smart health care solutions and expand university and industry exchanges for talent training.
The two sides also discussed tourism, with Lin pointing to direct flights between Taipei and Kota Kinabalu and what he called strong potential for closer travel links.
