The Taipei District Court has ruled to forfeit the 10 million NT bail payment made by a lawmaker's former aide after he absconded.
Zhang Jun Jie張俊傑 is believed to have intentionally damaged and thrown away his wrist monitor and is now wanted by police.
The court held a hearing today, summoning Zhang's guarantor and two lawyers.
The three all said they had had no contact with Zhang and that they didn't know where he was.
Zhang is involved in a case against lawmaker Gao Jin Su Mei, who faces corruption charges for allegedly embezzling millions in fraudulent assistant fees.
Zhang is accused of conspiring with Gao Jin to embezzle those fees, with prosecutors requestion 16 years in prison for him- at least.
