Taiwan's average TOEIC listening and reading score rose to a record 583 points in 2025.
The test's Taiwan representative says the average included 317 points for listening and 266 for reading.
That's up from 581 in 2024 and 568 in 2021.
Workers in electronics manufacturing averaged 555 points, slightly above the global industry average.
Taiwanese test takers in textile and paper manufacturing also outperformed their global industry average.
Meanwhile, a separate ETS survey suggests AI is increasing rather than reducing demand for English skills.
More than 80 percent of employers surveyed said using AI tools has increased the need for workplace English, while 92 percent said English is more important than five years ago.
