Prosecutors are adding more charges to the laundry list of accusations against Kaohsiung Lawmaker Lin Dai Hua.
Lin, who's already under investigation for corruption, is now charged with embezzling public funds.
Prosecutors say that Lin set up dedicated political donation accounts, in line with the law, in the 2 elections, collecting about 100 million NT.
But, they allege that Lin, her brother and a friend used two marketing companies to issue false invoices and embezzle money from the account collected over two election cycles.
Prosecutors say the three suspects embezzled a total of nearly 14 million NT in the scheme.
Lin allegedly arranged for her brother to run one of the companies in question, and instructed employees to issue fake invoices to claim political donations to the Control Yuan.
Her brother, however, says that he appointed someone else to run the company.
