Earthquake rattles Green Island

No damage or injuries are being reported after a magnitude 4.8 earthquake
that rattled parts of Taitung and Hualien this morning.

The quake struck at 12.37AM and was centered some 24-kilometers east
southeast of Taitung County Hall at a depth of 32-kilometers.

It was felt strongest on Green Island and in Donghe Township in Taitung,
where it registered a magnitude 4 on the Central Weather Administration's
intensity scale.

The quake registered a 3 on the intensity scale in Taitung's Chenggong area
and Chishang Township, as well as in Hualien's Fuli Township.
