Foreign Affairs Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) says China's "wolf warrior"
policy is a destabilizing force in the Pacific.

According to Taipei Times and Reuters reporting, Lin made the comments upon
returning from the Pacific Islands Forum in Palau.

Taiwan participated in the summit this past week as a "development partner,"
while China participated as a "dialogue partner."

Beijing criticized Taiwan's participation, saying it wasn't qualified, adding
that its presence would have "consequences."

Palau, the host of this year's Pacific Islands Conference, is one of three
Pacific island countries that Taiwan has official diplomatic ties with.

Lin said that the "Pacific way" is about openness and inclusiveness,
according to the Taipei Times.

He said, "This kind of Chinese 'wolf warrior' diplomacy could easily
undermine unity in the Pacific, and is offensive and detestable."

During the summit, Pacific leaders adopted a resolution that condemns a
Chinese ICBM launch in July and its deleterious effect on peace and unity in
the Pacific.
