Persistent heavy rain caused 41 incidents across Taipei today .... mostly flooding and fallen trees, as authorities stepped up disaster response efforts.
Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an says the incidents also included landslides and damage to buildings and other facilities.
No injuries have been reported.
In Shilin District, part of a hillside near Ziqiang Bridge collapsed, covering an area about two meters long and three meters wide with soil.
Authorities are monitoring rainfall, river levels and landslide-prone areas, and are urging people to stay away from mountains and waterways.
They also warned that the Keelung River near Bailing Bridge could rise above 1.8 meters.
Neighboring Keelung also reported flooding, including in parts of Dawulun Industrial Park, where water reached knee depth in some areas.
An extremely heavy rain advisory is in effect for Greater Taipei through tonight ... and forecasters say the north can expect the wet weather to continue through the weekend.
