Kaohsiung prosecutors have indicted 34 people for allegedly illegally dumping construction waste.
Prosecutors say, they generated over 62 million NT in illicit gains.
The main suspect, surnamed Huang, signed a contract with a construction company in 2024 to handle the disposal of constrcution waste.
In 2025, he represented a company that took on a similar contract to handle waste from a social housing project, obtaining documents authorizing them to transport the waste to two legal soil and gravel faclities.
But, Huang allegedly instructed his staff to tell truck drivers to enter the facilites, tilt their truck beds, and leave the site without unloading the waste, creating the illusion that the waste had been disposed of.
Instead, the construction waste was dumped at farmland sites in Daliao district.
Huang allegedly paid the farmland owners, and told them the waste could be used to raise the level of their land.
Prosecutors estimate that 4045 truck trips involving illegal dumping took palce, generating 62 million NT.
They're recommending prison sentences of more than 4 years and 10 months for Huang and others.
