Sports lottery posts 8.9 billion in World Cup betting

Taiwan Sports Lottery made 8.93 billion NT in bets during the 2026 Men's
World Cup, marking the second-highest total in the company's history for the
tournament.

For the first time, online betting surpassed in-person bets...

with the share of bets placed by women rising sharply to 35%.

The company president claims that the sharp rise in women's participation was
due to a promotional campaign offering luxury handbags as raffle prizes.

Taiwan Sports Lottery has recorded 60 billion NT in total betting so far this
year and is targeting a record 84 billion by the end of the year.
