Nepalese principal saves 900

Now turning to international news...

A school principal in Nepal is being celebrated for his decision to evacuate
his school.

Rajendra Dawadi's call saved at least 900 students from last week's flash
floods in the country.

That's as the total death toll from the disaster is approaching 1000.

Dawadi heeded warnings and led students to safety, watching his school
disappear beneath water and debris.

His story has emerged as a striking example of foresight and courage.

The floods destroyed thousands of classrooms and disrupted education for
nearly 19,000 students.

Dawadi is urging the government to rebuild schools and resume classes...

emphasizing the need for psychological counseling for students.

The disaster took place after a glacier in the Himalayas collapsed, killing
over 950 people in Nepal and Tibet, with more than 4400 still missing.
