Taiwan-based chipmaker Vanguard International Semiconductor, or V-I-S, says a fire at one of its facilities in Taoyuan had little impact on operations.
The fire broke out on the top floor of the company's Fab 3 at around 11:30 Thursday night.
V-I-S says about 200 workers evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control within about 45 minutes and fully extinguished it shortly afterward.
V-I-S says the fire did not damage the plant's main facilities, power systems or production equipment, and most production lines are running normally.
The company says some air pollution control equipment and connected systems were affected, but are expected to be back online by the end of this week.
V-I-S says it is investigating the cause of the fire and any other possible impacts.
