Foreign minister in Palau for Pacific Islands Forum side events

A delegation led by Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung is in Palau to attend side events held alongside the 55th Pacific Islands Forum.
With Lin is a delegation which includes representatives from the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce, and from Taiwan's energy, technology, food, construction and organic agriculture sectors.
Lin said the visit is aimed boosting trade, investment and tourism cooperation between Palau and Taiwan, while creating opportunities for exchanges with other Pacific nations.
Lin will participate in the 30th Taiwan/Republic of China-PIF Countries Dialogue and the attend the Pacific Prosperity Exhibition, where the U-S, Japan and Australia will showcase Pacific cooperation and development projects.
Lin is also scheduled to meet with Palau's President Surangel Whipps, and will hold sideline meetings with representatives from Taiwan's Pacific allies and other partner countries to discuss promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.
Taiwan and other non-members of the bloc were barred from participating in last year's event in the Solomon Islands, which was only attended by the bloc's 18 member states.
