Algeria wildfires kill 12

Wildfires sweeping across several Algerian provinces have killed at least 12
people as an intense heatwave grips North Africa.

Another 54 people suffered burns, including six who remain in critical
condition in intensive care.

Algeria's civil protection services recorded 154 wildfires across the country
on Wednesday.

The blazes come as exceptionally high temperatures affect Algeria and
neighboring Tunisia.
