President pledges greater support for new immigrants

President Lai Ching-te says everyone who makes their life in Taiwan should
receive comprehensive support, regardless of when they arrived.

Lai says providing greater care for new immigrants has long been an important
government principle.

He made the remarks as 80 new immigrants visited the Presidential Office
during a two-day educational trip organized by the DPP's Department of New
Immigrant Affairs.

Participants also visited the National Human Rights Museum's Jing-Mei White
Terror Memorial Park and the Legislative Yuan.

The DPP says it hopes the program will help new immigrants better understand
their civil rights and participate in shaping Taiwan's future.
