Deputy speaker heads to Japan

Deputy Legislative Speaker Jiang Qi Chen is heading to Japan to participate
in the Asian Pacific Parliamentarians' Union.

Representing Speaker Han Kuo-yu, Jiang is leading a tripartisan group of
lawmakers to the Japanese capital, including the KMT's Hong Meng Kai and Wang
Yu Min...

the DPP's Chen Guan Ting and Luo Meiling, and the TPP's Xu Zhong Xin, among
others.

A statement from the Legislature said that the delegation would make full use
of the opportunity to conduct international outreach and maintain good
relations.

Among the topics expected to be discussed with Japanese lawmakers in
particular are trade, culture, and bilateral relations.

The Asia-Pacific Parliamentarians' Union was established in 1965 and is a
long-established transnational parliamentary organization in Asia.
