Seven Chinese Travelers Denied Entry to Taiwan Over Visit Purpose

The National Immigration Agency says seven Chinese travelers were denied entry and sent back after arriving at Taipei Songshan Airport with purposes that did not match their approved applications.
The cases were recorded in the first half of this year, with family visitation among the reasons given for coming to Taiwan.
Officials say some travelers knew little about the relatives they claimed to be visiting, while others were suspected of planning to work illegally.
The agency says having a valid entry permit does not guarantee admission, and travelers must still undergo immigration checks and stick to the purpose of their approved stay.
Officials say suspicious cases will continue to face closer scrutiny, with entry denied when violations are confirmed.
