Taiwan artists and curators have issued a joint statement protesting what they claim to be "political censorship" by organizers of South Korea's Gwangju Biennale.
This, after the the word "Taiwan" was removed from promotional material and replaced it with the abbreviation for the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts at the event.
The statement was signed by 10 Taiwan artists and curators who had been invited to take part in the art exposition... they also said the foundation ignored repeated protests from the museum.
They further argued that the removal of the word "Taiwan" was not an isolated incident, but represents a threat to freedom of expression and the global art community.
The Ministry of Culture says it had asked its overseas representative office to continue expressing strong protests to the organizers
