Taiwan advances school health law changes

Schools across Taiwan could be required to provide menstrual products and
promote menstrual education under proposed amendments to the School Health
Act.

The amendments have passed an initial review by the Legislative Yuan's
Education and Culture Committee.

They would also add mental health education to school health curricula,
alongside existing healthy-eating education ...

... as well as expand campus restrictions on e-cigarettes, new tobacco
products and other nicotine products.

However, a proposal to ban beta-agonists, commonly known as "lean-meat
agents", from food supplied by schools was left for cross-party negotiations.
