Taichung city councilors are questioning the city government over
investigations into a labor procurement case, following the resigntion of a
former spokesperson implicated in the case.

KMT councilor Zhu Nuanying朱暖英 questioned whether the investigation now into
the case, which originated in 2020, was due to new evidence or
developments...

or if there were other considerations to be had.

Meanwhile DPP council caucus leader Zhou Yong Hong stated that 3 of the 4
people involved in the case are still employed by the Taichung city
government, including one sitting city councilor.

He called on the city government to assess if that implicated councilor is
fit or not to remain in the post.

DPP council Chen Shu Hua also claimed that the former spokesperson had
previously worked for China's United Front, and she urged Mayor Lu Xiu Yan to
address the impact of her core staff's involvement in the procurement leak...

rather than, in Chen's words, blaming everything on the president.
