The Ministry of Finance is forecasting record exports of more than US$850 billion in 2026.
Data from the ministry show exports of US$75 billion in July and US$492 in the first seven months.
The July figure is the third-highest in history after March and May exports, while the year-to-date figure is an outright record.
A finance ministry official said Taiwanese suppliers have remained upbeat about their business outlook, shrugging off global concerns about an AI bubble.
A notable example is contract chipmaker TSMC, which has raised its sales growth guidance and upgraded its capital expenditure budget for 2026 to meet robust AI demand.
The official added that Taiwan has entered the traditional peak export season ... promising even stronger momentum in the second half.
She said Taiwan's exports could well surpass US$850 billion this year, which would smash the 2025 record of US$641 billion.
