The Central Weather Administration says, it's not ruling out issuing a land
warning for Typhoon Dolphin.

That's after they issued a sea warning this afternoon for areas off the coast
of northern Taiwan.

The CWA says that the typhoon has strengthened slightly today, and a land
warning for Mazu at least is inevitable.

That's expected to be issued tomorrow night at the earliest.

As for if any other parts of Taiwan can expect a land warning, a land warning
could be issued for the northern coast of Keelung and New Taipei City
tomorrow afternoon...

depending on the path of the storm.

As of 2pm today, the storm was located 680 kilometers northeast of Taipei,
and moving westwards at 11 kilometers per hour.

Forecasters say, due to the storm's relatively slow pace, we can expect a
more prolonged period of heavy rain, particulary in northern Taiwan and the
mountainous center this weekend.

Meanwhile, Taipower says, it has dispatched thousands of personnel to conduct
pre-typhoon preparations.

They say, they've proactively deployed emergency response staff in case the
heavy rains and wind cause power outages.
