The Mainland Affairs Council has blocked a Chinese platform advertising
educational and employment opportunities in China for young Taiwanese.

The move comes a day after council minister Chiu Chui-cheng said the
government will seek the platform's removal or blocking due to legal
violations and personal data risks.

Spokesman Liang Wen-chieh said action was taken against the China-run "Taiwan
Youth e-Home" platform after coordinating with relevant agencies...

Liang says the website requires users to provide personal information,
allowing it to collect data on young people here in Taiwanese, which his
office believes poses an extremely high risk.

The council spokesman also says the platform's content violated several
articles of the Cross-Strait Act.

Those specific articles regulate recruitment for Chinese educational
institutions, Taiwanese taking positions in certain Chinese party or
political organizations, and advertising activities involving Chinese goods
and services.

"Taiwan Youth e-Home" was launched on July 15.

China's Taiwan Affairs Office says it was aimed at supporting the "integrated
development" of young people across the Taiwan Strait.
