New Tropical Storm Chan-hom formed but won't pose threat to Taiwan

The Central Weather Administration says Tropical Storm Chan-hom has formed
over the western Pacific but is not expected to affect Taiwan.

The storm developed from a tropical depression near Wake Island at 2 PM and
has been named Chan-hom, the 15th named storm of the Pacific typhoon season.

Forecasters say Chan-hom is moving north-northwest at about 42 kilometers per
hour and is expected to continue on that track over open waters.
