DPP Caucus slams opposition plan for party list cooperation

The DPP Legislative Caucus is criticizing a rumored opposition plan to combine forces on a potential by-election party ticket.
China Times is reporting that the KMT and TPP have agreed to a trade that would see the TPP support a KMT move to dissolve the cabinet...
in exchange for the KMT pledging 5 party list seats to the TPP.
The rumored plan would see the two opposition parties jointly nominate party list lawmakers, with the first 5 seats ceded to the TPP.
DPP Caucus Secretary General Zhuang Rui Xiong says, for such a deal to be hammered out before the cabinet has even been dissolved would remove entirely the significance of a no-confidence vote.
Zhuang says, a vote of no confidence would serve as a sort of midterm examination for the Executive Yuan, adding that it would also be a response to actions the legislature has taken over the past couple years.
He emphasized that both the executive and legislative yuans must be subject to public scrutiny, saying that exchanging seats between two parties is not the point.
