The Taipei City government says it is studying a proposal to create a public online platform for city councilors' information requests.
The platform would publicly display councilors' requests for information, along with the city government's responses.
City officials say the proposal involves legal and technical issues and will be evaluated over the next three months.
The proposal was put forward by DPP Councilor Wang Min-sheng (王閔生), who says it would reduce duplicate information requests, ease the workload for civil servants, and create a searchable knowledge base for the public.
TPP Councilor Lin Zhen-yu (林珍羽) says councilors often have to repeatedly verify information because the city government sometimes provides incomplete or inaccurate data.
