ASEAN meeting to talk about Middle East

In a related news...

Southeast Asia’s top diplomats will express alarm over renewed hostilities in
the Middle East when they gather in the Philippine capital for annual talks.

The envoys at the three-day meeting are to be joined by counterparts from
several governments, including the United States, China, Russia and the
European Union.

The Philippines is this year's chair of the Association of Southeast Asian
Nations and is hosting the talks.

ASEAN foreign ministers will first meet among themselves tomorrow to discuss
the fighting between the U.S. and Iran that has spilled into other countries
and threatened shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
