FDA: NO Affected US Lettuce Imported Amid Cyclospora Infection in States
Posted on 2026-07-20 16:07:13
Taiwan’s health authorities say domestic food supplies are safe following a
major parasite outbreak linked to imported lettuce in the United States.

The Food and Drug Administration confirms that no lettuce or salad products
processed by Taylor Farms de Mexico have been imported into Taiwan.

Food distributors in the U.S. have begun recalling iceberg lettuce processed
by the company, after American health officials linked the produce to an
outbreak of Cyclospora infections... mainly in Michigan, Ohio, and New York.

The FDA says its records show zero imports of the affected Mexican lettuce
products over the past three years.

Officials say Cyclospora is not classified as a reportable infectious disease
in Taiwan and no travel advisories have been issued.

However, they are advising travelers visiting affected regions in North
America to ensure all fresh produce is thoroughly washed and water is safe to
drink.
