Chongqing landslide kills at least eight

A landslide on the outskirts of Chongqing has killed at least eight people
and left 34 missing.

The disaster buried residential buildings and forced more than 1,100 people
to evacuate.

Yesterday's landslide occurred in Pengshui County, where massive amounts of
rocks and soil washed downslope, burying more than 10 buildings.

Ten people were rescued, including two seriously injured.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has asked authorities to determine the cause.

Over 800 rescuers are working on-site, helped by drones that are surveying
the area.
