EU Chief Visits Kyiv on Statehood Day

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is visiting Kyiv to mark
Ukraine's Statehood Day and pledge continued military and financial support.

Von der Leyen is expected to announce new steps to strengthen cooperation
between European and Ukrainian defense industries during her 11th wartime
visit to the country.

Russia first annexed Crimea in 2014 before launching its full-scale invasion
of Ukraine in 2022.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials say Russian attacks have killed at least eight
civilians.
