The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on reiterated Taiwan's stance on the South on
the South China Sea — on the 10th anniversary of an international arbitration
ruling that rejected many of China's claims in the disputed waterway.

MOFA says Taiwan should not be excluded from efforts to resolve issues
affecting its rights and interests, and that disputes should be settled
peacefully in accordance with international law through multilateral
dialogue.

It also reiterated Taiwan's opposition to unilateral expansion, gray-zone
coercion and militarization in the South China Sea, calling on all parties to
resolve their differences peacefully.

The ministry's statement came as several countries, including the United
States, Japan and Australia, also marked the anniversary by reaffirming their
support for international law and a rules-based order in the South China Sea.
